SATCRUISER DSR-101 MPEG 2 DVB/PowerVu® Receiver

Introduction

The Satcruiser DSR-101 is a Free to Air MPEG 2 DVB / Power Vu receiver that combines low price with advancedfeatures and high performance. The DSR-101 is here to stay, many MPEG 2receivers come and go, mainly due to poor reliability or sub-standard performance. The DSR-101 was refined and extensively field tested before it was officially released on the global market. The end result is high performance, reliability and a quality of construction that is well above the industry standard.

NTSC to PAL converter
The Satcruiser has a unique feature which most digital receivers lack;an inbuilt standards converter (software controlled) . The standards converter will convert NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC. Without the converter enabled the Satcruiser will pass the source format, ie: NTSC in NTSC out, PAL in PALout.

 Quality, Reliability andWarranty
The DSR-101 is manufactured to a very high standard, the quality of the components used and the overall construction is superb. Reliability is one of the DSR-101's most endearing features, to date we have not had a single failure. For peace of mind we provide a 12 month replacement warranty, which means we wont repair your receiver, we will replace it, immediately without question.

Menu System
The menu system is displayed on-screen, in colour and in eitherNTSC or PAL format. The menu system is so easy to navigate that you canliterally throw away the users manual. Initial installation is a simpletask, taking very little time and effort. Without exaggeration the Satcruiser menu system is the most user friendly of any receiver we have seen.

Weak signal performance
The DSR-101 uses a high sensitivity tuner to provide outstanding weak signal performance. The RF sensitivity and the low noise figure of this particular tuner is excellent. As a result the DSR-101 will lock on weak signals that other receivers cannot.

AV & RF Connections
The DSR-101 has a variety of connections and sockets. There are 2 SCARTsockets which carry CVBS, RGB and audio signals. Standard RCA sockets for direct Audio and Video connection to your VCR or TV. An RF modulator which transfers the signal to your TV or VCR by means of the antenna input jack. The RS232 port for software downloads etc. A power on/off switch and the Satellite antenna input socket and IF loop output. A SCART socket is actually a European standard connection that simply allows for the AV interface between the receiver and a TV or VCR. However if you don't have SCART sockets onyour TV or VCR, simply use the RF modulator or the RCA sockets instead

Future Proof
The DSR-101 was designed with the future in mind. After all, nobody wants to buy a product that will be out-dated a few months later. The RS232 serial port will allow firmware upgrades to be made via download from the Internetor floppy disc. Or the EEPROM can be removed without special equipment andreplaced with an upgraded type should it ever be necessary.
