SPORTS PACIFIC NETWORK - (SPN).


SPN (Sports Pacific Network) was established in January 1998 by the Nauru Olympic Committee and was on-air Saturday 31st January 1998 at 12 noon.

SPN is a free-to-air all SPORTS television network based in Nauru and it's programe is beamed to the Pacific region and its neighboring countries via global beam from Intelsat 701 located at 180 degrees West longitude. SPN are using the latest Panasonic digital video technology for live to air and program editing.

SPN is dedicated to the promotion of SPORTS across the Pacific region. SPN gives the Pacific an opportunity to find its own voice and helps address the sporting needs of the region as we move into the 21st century. SPN programming policy seeks to originate, develop and encourage sports programs from the entire Pacific region.

SPN is planned to broadcast 12 hours of sports events daily - starting at Midday NZ time through to 12 midnight.

Recent programming has included Golf, Ruby Sevens, Weight Lifting, Pacific Way and Hot Spots magazine programs and many international sporting events.
